With his ever-present grin and hang loose spirit,
Honolulu John embodies the spirit of Kilohana. Whether it be paddling in
big water off Santa Cruz, racing with the boys in Molokai or hammering out yet another
OC-1 rack, this doting father and self-named 'Subic Bay Dog' represents Kilohana
at its best. |

Our Princess wore many hats in 2005 for Kilohana. Paddler,
novice coach, survivor and wave warrior, Cece now has another crown to wear other than her tiara -
Wahine POTY. |

Kari was the easy choice for wahine keiki paddler of the year.
As the designer of the keiki shirt, every keiki wore her honu close to her heart. As a leader among
the keikis, she kept the wellbeing of every keiki close to hers. |

The strength and bravery Josh demonstrated in all his endeavors makes
him a hands down choice for Kane keiki paddler of the year. A wrestler in school, Josh didn't take
to paddling readily. However, once he got into it, his strength, athletic ability and, most importantly, his heart,
became quite evident as he represented Kilohana as the youngest racer at the 2005 Alcatraz race. |
